If there's something you feel is missing from the description, EMAIL ME BEFORE YOU BID. ALL SALES FINAL I try to describe every item completely to the best of my knowledge, and show plenty of good pictures so that you know what you're bidding on. The saddle weighs approximately 32 pounds as shown. The lining is matted and has typical soiliing, no tears or holes worn through. The skirts are 27 inches long front to back.

The stirrups are replacements and look like they might be cheaper imports, so they could stand to be replaced with something of higher quality. The leathers are supple with no tears and they have not been trimmed off short. A good latigo tie strap, thick leather off billet, and slightly used 34 inch neoprene girth are included. The stirrup leathers adjust with Blevins quick change buckles. You can see the connector straps that run between the front and rear dees are contoured to protect more of the skirt under the stirrup leathers. The rigging leather is all in good condition with no tears or thin spots.

The rigging is full double with brass or bronze dee rings. If you're going to need them for tying on equipment, you may want to have them replaced. Also the strings are a little rough with some cracking and broken ends. On each corner of the rear housing, there are some small holes where the original owner had their initials mounted in silver. The leather is all supple with no serious damage such as tears or dry rot. It was originally two-tone, which you can still make out in some areas, but the color has mostly evened out from oiling and use. The leather is finished in a combination basketweave and oak leaf pattern. The cantle is 3 inches tall, finished with a Cheyenne roll. There are no tears or holes worn through. There are several snags across the front 2/3 of the seat that look like cat claw marks. There's a higher rise at the front, making the pocket deep and secure. The seat is padded and covered with full grain leather. The seat measures 15 1/2 inches from the base of the horn to the top inside edge of the cantle (the catalog also lists it as a 15 1/2 inch). The horn is 3 1/2 inches tall with a 4 inch wide rawhide bound cap. I don't think it will work on a real wide or mutton withered horse. It looks comparable to modern Semi-QH and should fit a narrow to medium width horse well. 423E "Roper" tree, with a 6 1/4 inch wide gullet and Quarter Horse bars. This model is pictured in my Tex Tan catalog from that year and was called The Texan.According to the catalog, the saddle is built on Tex Tan's rawhide covered No.
